From early 2000 no street corner or rubbish bin in Bristol was safe. What appeared on them was strange and unique and the graffiti phenomenon known as Sickboy was born. Obsessed with yellow and red dome like temples, Sickboy left his mark in every nook and cranny.
Tomorrow the 1st January 2009 sees the release of the first screen-prints of the year. 100artworks are releasing the new Sickboy print range. Pictured above the Edition size is 250 Non-Gold and 75 Gold version all signed and numbered by the artist. The gold version is styling real 24 Carat gold leaf. Both versions will be available tomorrow from the 100Artworks website here

SARAH MAGAZINE
Got emailed about this great fundraising project called Sarah Magazine. The magazine is a benefit for Sarah (pictured above) to raise the money for her second ear surgery. Sarah was born almost deaf and recently got a cochlear implant in her right ear, which helps her hear sounds she never realized existed. The second implant in her left ear has been scheduled for 2009, but since medical insurance will only cover one operation, she'll have to pay the full 25.000 euro bill all by herself... To help her out, 100 artists join forces to realize a publication and donate the full proceeds to her operation.
100 artists from around the world contributed an artwork to this A5, 96-page magazine - fullcolour cover and black/magenta/white insides, threadless bound - to help out raising money for Sarah's operation.

The magazine includes work from a whole bunch of artists we are fans of including Swoon, Bfree, Miss Lotion, Ward Zwart, Lennard Schuurmans, Craig Atkinson, Ephameron, Marcus Oakley, Neasden Control Centre, Mike Swaney and Luke Ramsey to name a few.
Sarah magazine only costs 15 euro (worldwide postage included) and is a 96-page black/magenta/white A5 publication on recycled paper with full-colour cover with a limited edition of 1000 copies

VIA BRICK LANE

Keeping it on the Italian tip, The Brick Lane Gallery presents “Via Brick Lane”, an exhibition showcasing works by a selection of Italian Street Artists, reunited for the first time in a London gallery. The exhibition will showcase nine of the most established Italian artists, some of which are represented in major collections worldwide and have a regular presence in international exhibitions and biennales.
Inspired by various art-historical movements as well as cultural references, these artists bridge the gap with the previous generation of Street Artists by developing new and innovative techniques of production and creation.
Continuing an affinity with the traditions of graffiti and stencils, the works are also intricately linked to the urban environment which the artists use to present subtle critical comments of today’s society. Their aim is to create a guerilla-based freedom of expression which can compete with the market forces and their commercial visual impressions. Using the city’s landscape, content and design as a source of inspiration to create a new global language, they attempt to make their works as visible as possible in our current jungle of endless signs, logos and commercial advertising.
Artists include: 108 from Alessandria, El Gato Chimney, Orticanoodles, Ozmo, Pho, Santy and Termine Growth from Milan, Lucamaleonte and the Sten/Lex duo from Rome.
The show opens with a private view on the 11th December 2008 and the show will run until the 5th January 2009

FUTURA FINE ART PRINT
Hang-Up Pictures have been working alongside their good friends over at Krunk on their latest fine art print release from internationally acclaimed graffiti artist Futura.
Hang-Up Pictures will act exclusively offering signed editions 75 - 100 with this hugely anticipated release which will be available from December 10th 2008 through the website.
Art collectors and print connoisseurs have two new objects of desire; a set of fine art limited edition prints by celebrated contemporary urban artist Futura. His recent LA show, Strategic Synchronicity, marked an extraordinary return from one of graffiti's most influential pioneers: the progression and intricacies of the pieces confirmed the collection as his best work to date - and the sell-out show was greeted with respect and admiration by the art world.
Collectors now have one final chance to own a part of this seminal show: KRUNK has re-created two of the key abstract paintings from the collection in 'ultimate' quality print form.
These highly textured, hand-pulled editions exemplify the potential of modern fine art printmaking - and seeing them on the wall shows just what is possible thanks to recent advances in the craft. Utilizing various textured inks and highly developed techniques of serigraphy, the master printers have painstakingly recreated every minute detail of the original works with exceptional clarity and true artistic craftsmanship. The Serigraphs were painstakingly hand-separated according to all details of the original paintings, yielding a final edition that stands alone as a work of art. Throughout the creation of this project, the master printers were charged with the near-impossible task of matching the complexity of the original mixed media works, and have delivered on every last detail. The brush work is beautifully replicated, and the aerosol effects display the same level of energy and excitement for the technique as Futura's original work.

The use of transparent and matted color effects results in a highly distinctive piece of art that surpasses any other edition recently offered in the contemporary and urban art scene.
The prints will be priced at £525 inc VAT each, excluding delivery. Orders for the print will be taken from the 10th December 2008 from Hanguppictures.com
