Hookedblog's Best of 2014 - Street Art Short Films

After the positive response, we got to our Best of 2013 — Street Art Short Films post we thought it would make sense to kick off the new year and share another selection of some of the street art short films and time-lapse videos that have caught our attention over the last year.

As with our 2013 selection of street art short films, the collections of films featured below are in no particular order but are a selection we thought you our readers would enjoy watching over the holiday season.

Stencil Artist M-City in Norway

Following on from his impressive work on an Airport Control tower, stencil artist M-City returned to Stavanger in Norway for this year's edition of the Nuart Festival where he painted 'Ocean Art' - a 90m long offshore supply vessel - covering 200 m2 of its bow.

After three long days of painting the ship was christened and set sail, the film above shows M-City at work.

Beau Stanton New York Mural

Brooklyn-based artist Beau Stanton staged his first European solo show ''Tenebras Lux' in a Bristol crypt earlier this year which we were lucky enough to catch the show(covered here).

The time-lapse above sees the artist working on a mural in the heart of Astoria in New York titled 'Ornamented Man Mural'.

Australian street artist Rone

Melbourne-based artist Rone visited London back in April, painting a wall on East London Hanbury Street (covered here) ahead of his solo show 'Wallflower' at Stolen Space Gallery.

Australian production house Robot Army caught up with Rone in December and produced the above film in which Rone talks about what he does, how he does it, and how he got to where he is today.

Spanish artist Isaac Cordel

Street artists SNIK

Street art duo SNIK featured in this short film shot back in September 2014 was released ahead of their London exhibition 'U' in which they revealed elements of their much-talked-about artistic process.

French Art duo Ella & Pita

Short documentary about the street artists, ELLA & PITR, from France, and their work at 180 Creative Camp, in the Portuguese town of Abrantes.

Australian Street Artist Jimmy C

London-based Australian artist JIMMY C aka James Cochran features in the above short film.

NY street artist Swoon

And finally, this short film features a video interview with a young Caledonia Dance Curry better known as SWOON.

Strictly not a new film, but one we have not seen before and one that has just recently appeared online so we figured it was worth sharing here. The film was shot by Joey Garfield as part of a documentary film series he filmed with Upper Playground.

We hope you enjoyed our 2014 collection of short street art films, if there is anything you think we have missed let us know and we will add it to the post. And if you missed our selection of short films from 2013 you can enjoy the  street art collection here.
