This coming Monday, the 6 December will see the opening of Alex Daw's 'Proper Gander' exhibition here in London. We blogged Alex's first show held in Wieden + Kennedy's new space in the Old Truman Brewery back in 2009 {blogged here}. This will be his second solo exhibition which will be held in collaboration with Eight an exclusive members club located on the historic Change Alley in the City of London and M van Fullbroeck Associates.
Daw is atempting to move away from the generic, often banal gallery experience and wants to shift into more site specific venues transforming the luxurious confines of the Eight Club into a subterranean nerve centre housed deep within the city walls. This space will be home to a plethora of Daws’ artwork from traditional 2-d works on paper and oil paintings, to carved magazines, moving image and performance installation.
The Private view and artists reception is from 7pm on 6 December and promises to be a special event, unlike anything seen before, with live art, performance and installation work, this should be a truly unique exhibition.
Early RSVP is essential for this event as space is limited. Head over to Hang Up Picture's website to RSVP for the event.
The exhibition will run until the 24th January 2011. Admission will be free but as it is a members club visitors will be expected to book ahead. For information on opening times or to book to see the show please email info@hanguppictures.com
