Colombian Street Artist Bastardilla's London Street Art

We were fortunate enough to see some of the huge outdoor street pieces by the Colombian artist Bastardilla on our recent trip to the south of Italy. The artist was invited over by Angelo Milano to create a number of large-scale street pieces for this year's Fame Festival. The colorful, bold pieces combined with bucket loads of silver glitter had a great sense of energy and motion to them and worked really well on the walls of Grottaglie with its vibrant blue skies.

You can imagine our delight when we stumbled across this huge paste-up work by Bastardilla here in London over the weekend. We are not exactly sure when the street art piece went up or if the artist is still in London, but this is the only paste-up piece we have spotted so far. We are hoping that there may be some more pieces from the artist out there waiting to be found! If anyone has seen anything let us know in the comments section below.

Some of Bastardillas' original artworks can currently be seen at Pictures On Walls gallery space as part of the Street Sketchbook Journeys: The Exhibition which continues until 15 October 2010. She is also featured in autor Tristan Manco's new book Street Sketchbook: Journeys which launched in London last week
