Banksy vs Robbo Round 3 & 4

Well it looks like game set and match for Robbo and team Robbo. While Banksy was off in Utah hitting up the streets with new stencil works to promote the premiere of his “Exit Through the Gift Shop” movie, Team Robbo strike again.

Having previously taken out two of the four Banksy Camden canal stencil pieces which appeared over December 2009, they have now completed the set and altered/added to the two remaining stencil pieces.

Photographer and fellow blogger Nolions has snapped the two altered Banksy stencil pieces and also written a great piece about this ongoing graff vs streetart beef over on the Graffoto blog. You can read more about the Robbo x Banksy beef it here.

too many tears Robbo. I think the first round was successful, i mean, you made it respect the historic spot under the bridge for almost 25 years old (bla, bla, bla), but this? is not even funny, its not even take advantage these pictures of banksy drawing creatively. less talk and more action. Banksy probably win this battle.

seems as if Robbo just wants a bit of attention now, all a bit weak really. Banksy for the win

Id say Robbo earns more respect as he's been painting longer than banksy and hasn't sold his soul to capitalism. Banksy is a millionaire now and owes it all to rich trendy urbanites who have no clue of the culture from where this all came. He tries to get all street by going over something that was there for 24 years and people get upset when theres retaliation!.. Dont throw stones in greenhouses banksy..

How has banksy "sold his soul to capitalism"? if people are willing to pay thousands of pounds for his work, more fool them...that's not capitalism, in fact it's the reverse...banksy has taken money OUT of rich people's pockets. What he does with that money is his business. He could have made millions from working for corporations like nike, but has refused to do so.

If you want a graffiti artist who has sold out, try Shepard Fairey. Banksy has simply cashed in on the stupidity of others. "Rich trendy urbanites" parting with large amounts of money for something that cost about a fiver sounds like the opposite of capitalism to me. Besides, you have no idea what banksy does with the money he makes.
