Nelly Duff's Banger Art

Our friends over at Nelly Duff Gallery on Columbia Road are curating an art event for the upcoming Lovebox music festival in Victoria Park, running from 15th - 17th June 2012. Their Banger Art show will see the gallery recycling 10 old bangers destined for the scrapheap and handing them over to 10 invited artists to transform the old cars into unique pieces of art.

From illustrators, to street / graffiti artists to screen printers the impressive line-up will include transformed bangers from Sweet Toof, Eine, Dan Hillier, Aida, Toasters, Matt Small, Dr.D, Pablo Delgado, Jorge Rodriguez Gerada and Will Barras. All 10 cars will be on display for the duration of the three day music festival in East London.

Ahead of the Lovebox weekend, Nelly Duff will be holding a preview show of the finished artwork for those that are unable to attend the Lovebox festival. We at Hookedblog were lucky enough to be invited over to the subterranean basement space over the weekend, which is currently being used as a make shift studio for the artists to work on their cars and will also double up as the venue for the one night only preview show this Wednesday the 13th June.

Not wanting to give too much away we have posted a selection of teaser images here and can tell you all ye are in for a treat on Wednesday evening, the artwork we have seen so far and the venue are both awesome and you will not want to miss the evening. RSVP for the preview evening is essential so be sure to email the guys over at Nelly Duff at : hello@nellyduff.com to attend. We will be posting some additional images closer to the event so be sure and check back with us.
