Street Art Book 'It's a Stick-Up', compiled by Olly Studios in London and featuring paste-up street artists from around the globe.

Earlier this year Hookedblog reviewed the latest book release from Ollystudios and publishers Laurence King titled It's a Stick-Up: 20 Real Wheat Paste-Ups from the World's Greatest Street Artists

It's A StickUp Book 'The Special Editions'

The beautifully designed street art book showcases the work of 20 street artists from across the globe who work predominantly with wheat paste and posters and included artists such as Paul Insect, A.ce, Dale Grimshaw, HIN, Pablo Delgado, WK Interact, Dain, Rae, Kid Acne and EMA to name a few.

For the Special Edition books, Ollystudios has invited a number of the street artists featured in the book to create bespoke artwork covers on a special blank white covered version of the book which will then be packaged in specially designed screen printed boxes.

Studio Visit to Ollystudios

We caught up with Ollystudio during the week in their East London space for a sneak peek of some of these Special Edition books.

To be honest, some of the artists have put so much work into these so-called special editions they are more like original pieces of work and we imagine many of these will end up in frames hanging on walls.

The artists were each sent out a number of copies of the book to customize and the results from what we saw were pretty impressive.

The first of two planned sale nights took place at the Signal Gallery in East London on the 12th of September and featured bespoke covers from Paul Insect, Dale Grimshaw, A.ce, Hin, and Pablo Delgado with prices ranging from £110 upto £280. We have shared a selection of images below of the book covers / artworks that were for sale.

03. Mexican Street Artist Pablo Delgado

The king of miniature street art, Mexican artist Pablo Delgado has not only worked on the covers but has produced what is almost like landscapes for his miniature characters by ripping into the books themselves and tearing out sections of the pages of the book to reveal the colourful pages inside to create some stunning one-off pieces of artwork.

04. London artist Paul Insect

For his custom editions, London-based artist Paul Insect has really gone to town, not only do the covers feature these fun characters which we love, who have made an appearance on the streets in the last few months (covered here) but he has tagged up and doodled on a number of the pages within the books making each one very different and unique.

We are looking forward to seeing all the editions on display in one space on the 12th of September at Signal Gallery and imagine they are all gonna get snapped up really quick so we suggest if you are interested to get over to the gallery early, doors open at 6pm.
