Friday night in London saw the European launch of "Beyond The Streets: The 100 Most Important Figures in Urban Art" Book at Phillips de Pury & Company.

We headed down to check it out the new publication and capture some pictures from the launch event. A huge shout out to the authors of the book Patrick Nguyen and Stuart Mackenzie on very successful launch night. The London/UK street art community was out in force to support the launch of the new book and Phillips de Pury's space was packed to capacity.


 
The only negative of the night was a lack of books. When we arrived at the venue they had already sold out of copies, a slight oversight on the publishers part.

But despite this, a fantastic evening was had by those in attendance with a whole host of street artists signing and doodling in the books of those lucky enough to get copies of the publication. Street and Graffiti artists in attendance at the launch included artist Mode 2, Blek Le Rat, D*Face, Alëxone Dizac, Matt Small, Lucas Price (a.k.a. Cyclops) to name just a few.






The evening continued in a nearby London pub and it was good catching up with old friends and making new ones. We then headed back to East London where we continued boozing and partying into the early hours of the morning, seeing us make it home at 5am. But hey, it's not every day you get to hang out with French Stencil Legend Blek Le Rat and Alëxone Dizac.


If you missed the London launch party a second book launch is planned for New York City on Thursday, May 27th at Deitch Projects (18 Wooster Street, New York 10013) from 6 to 9pm. You don't want to miss it.

The book is long sold out but you might be lucky and manage to pick up a second-hand copy online.
