On a rainy afternoon last week we headed over to Hoxton Station and found ourselves down a quiet back street outside a disused warehouse on Gorsuch Street. We have been down this street many's a time before over the years, as this back street was a popular spot for street artists to hit before the council took to buffing the walls on a regular basis. But on this occasion we were here to catch up with Ben Eine who is back in the UK and was busy at work inside this amazing warehouse space spraying up walls ahead of his one night only Tenderloin A-Z Exhibition with East London gallery Nelly Duff.
Now based in San Francisco, Eine has returned to collaborate once again with Nelly Duff for the release of an impressive 52 colour screen printed edition ‘Tenderloin’ A-Z, which takes its name from an area of San Francisco. The edition has been released in four variants, some of which went on sale online earlier this month: Tenderloin A-Z Stone / Tenderloin A-Z Pink Diamond / Tenderloin A-Z Blue Diamond /Tenderloin A-Z Blue Black. The remainder of the editions will go on sale at the warehouse event Nelly Duff are hosting with Eine on Wednesday 18th September. Alongside the four variants of the Tenderloin A-Z prints, Nelly Duff will also be showcasing the complex processes that went into making this 52 colour edition.
The event will also mark the launch of new publication from Aurum Press, The World Atlas of Street Art and Graffitiby Dr.Rafael Schacter, co-curator of the Tate Modern's renowned 'Street Art' exhibition. EINE is one of the featured street artists in this new reference book, documenting the worldwide geography of the Street Art genre. The World Atlas of Street Art & Graffiti will be available to purchase on the night and EINE has custom sprayed 10 World Atlas of Street Art & Graffiti book covers with the letter 'A', available randomly with the purchase of the book on the night!
