The team behind the Montreal based SafeWalls project recently caught up with our friend and talented Hackney Wick based screen-printer/artist Aida Wilde. They had arranged a visit with Aida at her studio in Hackney Wick, as she was beginning work on the Sweet Toof and Glenn Anderson TOTEM screen prints which featured in the Safewalls exhibition at the High Rollers Society gallery.



Aida Wilde is a master image-maker and screen-printer to the stars. A political refugee from the Middle East in the early 80′s, Aida studied at London College of Communication and graduated in 1999, she has then gone on to spread the love teaching surface design for the last 9 years.


During that time Aida has developed a hand-printed clothing line called Bragg that adorns the backs of East London’s fashionistas. Not being content with her prints and images on clothing alone, she has turned her hands to printing and art-making. Her first collaborative print with Sweet Toof was exhibited in X Contemporary Art and her debut print release in the 3D series was snapped up by Nelly Duff gallery. Since then, Aida is proud to have exhibited in the Line Steppers show in Birmingham, Mutate Britain (One Foot In The Grove) in London, and High Roller Society’s gallery launch exhibition. — Safewalls website. Image ©Safewalls
