SOULED OUT Exhibition

Leonard Street Gallery present Beejoir, along with fellow Souled Out Studios artists Mau-Mau, Cyclops and Kate Westerholt, in their upcoming exhibition SOULED OUT, opening 29 February 2008.
The title of the exhibition draws its name from Beejoir’s Bangkok studio, Souled Out Studios, and offers a fresh look at his latest imaginative conceptions along side fellow artists whom share the same desire of presenting profound visuals that both allure and confront the viewer.
The tone of the exhibition promises to be nothing less than an eclectic visual representation of modern urban life and political anxieties mixed with aesthetic warfare revealed through sculptures, paintings, installations, plastered signs, skate decks and knitted mayhem.
A Beejoir Limited Edition print of 75, will also be released the night of the opening. This will be the last traditional screen print edition on paper from Beejoir for quite some time.

OTHER PRINT SALE

Canadian artist Other is at the moment trying to raise funds for a three month residency in Melbourne Australia. He has created a number of Lino prints and some paintings in efforts to raise the money.
As always the prints are hand printed by Other with a wooden spoon and are extremely limited editions most have only from 7 to 14 prints in existence..these prints of course can never be printed again because each level of color must be cut away to create a new layer of color...so in the creation of the print the linoleum he uses is destroyed ...all prints are numbered titled and signed and not very expensive. Go get some awesome art and help support this artist.
Check the work over on his Flickr here.

SANDERSON BOB

We are huge fans of Sanderson Bob's graphic design work and are delighted to see Kemistry Gallery is hosting his first UK solo show.
The exhibition ‘Pure Yet Complex’ features a selection of posters exploring his interest in line, colour, perspective, movement and the edges of things. The exhibited work is a continuation of his experimentation with form, colour and typography. The balance between type and form, complimented by composition and colour, is an intrinsic part of Sanderson Bob’s work. Complex structures are built out of the purity of simple core elements. The work is dynamic and optically arresting creating a kaleidoscope of shapes, colours and angles.
The work has been specially produced as limited edition, high quality, A1 litho prints and will be available to purchase exclusively at Kemistry Gallery from 14 February 2008.
Bob Sanderson studied graphic design at Central St Martins before a professional career taking him from music magazines in Amsterdam to The Designers Republic. He established himself as Sanderson Bob in 2004 and has worked alongside companies such as Big Active, Mother and W+K London.
The show opens on the 14 February and runs until the 22 March 2008

BUBBLEGUM PSYCHEDELIC

New exhibition opening at Stolen Space Gallery this week. Bubblegum Psychedelic will feature new works from London based illustrator/toy designer Pete Fowler.
Here is what Pete has to say about the upcoming show:
“This is the first collection of paintings I’ve exhibited for some years. A culmination of ideas evolved and developed over time drawing influences from old and new psychedelic music, mutations, record shopping and my own alternate reality project Monsterism Island. The show includes paintings, large and small using a candy coloured palette quite unlike work I have previously produced with paint. This palette is much used in my digital illustration work.
Also on display will be previously unseen works on paper, in pencil and ink inspired by work from my sketch book and doodles. This section of the show will try to achieve the feeling of a walk through a compilation of my sketch books.
I’d like to think these pieces look good enough to eat or at least lick, but I wouldn’t recommend it.’’
Exhibition opens on 08th of February
