With London's current heatwave set to continue into the weekend one of the many events not to be missed is Groove Armada's Lovebox in East London's Victoria Park. Spread over two days the Weekender now in its fourth year will play host to a fantastic selection of bands and DJ's over ten different arena's.
Highlight this year include CUT COPY live on Saturday, which will be their only UK live performance this year. HOT CHIP also on the main stage on saturday. Coldcut at the Favela / Cable Street Arena. DJ SPINA, Norman Jay, Keb Darge, Giles Peterson, New Young Pony, Roots Manuva to name some of the DJs / bands worth checking. Plus the 55DSL Music Arena which will be using a traditional Spiegel Magic Mirror tent, the space is decked with wooden flooring, polished mirrors and boutique style seating with a ‘feel at home’ designed garden area, complete with vintage style seating and art installations all definately worth checkin'.
If the fantastic line up of bands and DJ's weren't enough, Lovebox have lined up lots of extras to keep you entertained over the two days. Funfair with classic rides including dodgems, helter skelters and a waltzer. An Insect Circus, a Feast Food Bazar and the Cable Street Cinema showcasing the best VJs and screening alternative films from GraffitiTV and Manga throughout the weekend.
Additional visual madness will be provided over at the Aerosolics Arena who will have some of the best Aerosol artists in the world painting live. Aerosolics will be holding the first ever round of Write4Gold, the annual global search for the most innovative and outstanding artwork.8 selected crews will be judged by respected Writers for their style, conception, sketching, throw-ups and tagging for a place in the final. The Aerosolics area will be an evolving, interactive work of art.
Special guests making an appearance will include 54Crew, TMP, 3rd Decade, TCF and AAGH who will also be working their magic, spraying up not only boards but also cars and tanks!!
